Genuine problem or not? S*xual assault against men is one of the most taboo topics anywhere in the world.

Well, there’s the fact it’s a very emasculating experience; both to experience it and then to admit it.

Sweden, committed to show they possess a true egalitarian society, have opened the first rape centre for men in the world. A clinic in Södersjukhuset opened the facility on Thursday, as part of a strategy to ensure “gender equal” patient care.

The clinic already runs a similar centre for women, which operates all year round. The idea is to have one for men as well, who can then feel free to report incidences of s*xual abuse and receive free treatment.

“We are happy that we now can finally open the first rape clinic for men following the rape clinic for women,” Rasmus Jonlund, a press spokesperson for the Liberal Party, which led the campaign for the department in the Swedish capital, told The Local.

“It is the first in Sweden .We think it is the first in the world.”

“Emergency medical care for raped men will be free of charge, and offered around the clock, all year,” a local politician said in a statement.

Gender equality for all.
