Some journalists who covered the President’s activities on Monday were involved in an accident with the Presidential convoy, leaving one injured and in critical condition.
The journalists were with the President, and had covered his commissioning of a new community day Senior High School in the Western Region.
The accident occurred on the road between Beahu and Akowen in the Ahanta West District on Monday night.
One of the vehicles in the President’s convoy rammed the press van from behind. Several journalists sustained injuries, but one Obrempong Yaw Ampofo, who is Citi FM’s Western Regional Correspondent, has been hospitalised after being rendered unconscious.
The patient is currently at the Kwesimintsim Polyclinic in Takoradi
This comes a short couple of months after the accident involving the Presidential press corps, which unfortunately led to the death of one journalist and the hospitalisation of many others.
