Anybody Can Do What Anas Does- President Mahama

President Mahama

The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has spoken out on the prevalence of corruption in Ghanaian society.

Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas recently carried out an expose on judicial corruption which shook the entire country to the bone.

Writing on his Facebook page, the President called on all Ghanaians to join the fight against corruption. According to him, with the availability of phones with cameras to virtually everyone these days, anybody can be an Anas in their own little corner of the country.

“Every Ghanaian can now help our institutions in their fight against corruption. With the current availability of social media applications and modern video and camera devices embedded in even ordinary mobile phones, everyone can be an Anas.” he wrote.

He pledged his continuous support for the fight against corruption, even though very little has been done in that area since he took office.

“As President, I wish to assure you about my commitment to the fight against corruption. I’ll continue to work to strengthen our institutions; especially the anti-corruption institutions will be assisted to carry out their work without fear or favour. You can also be a part of this fight. Let’s keep transforming Ghana!”

Anas goes through painstaking efforts to work incognito, and faces considerable danger doing so. Also he’s extremely well trained. The effort to fight corruption has to start with the display of the requisite will from those at the top.
