The Fifa President has been provisionally suspended for 90 days by the body’s ethics committee as investigations into an alleged bribe continues.
The Swiss attorney general’s office have opened criminal proceedings against the 79 year old, who won elections earlier this year but is likely to step down soon.
Blatter is accused of signing a deal unfavourable to Fifa, and making a suspected illegal President to Michel Platini, who is currently head of Europe’s football confederation UEFA.
Fifa itself is under investigations, after several officials were indicted; including former CONCACAF head Jack Warner, who is again involved in this scandal.
A final decision on the suspension would be taken on Thursday.
