Ghanaian Television show host, model and musician, Deborah Vanessa aka Sister Deborah, says it will be difficult for things to work well in this country, due to the mentality of Ghanaians.
Sister Derby told Delay on Viasat 1 that even the educational system or the teaching methodology of the country is very hollow—and nothing positive is being taught at the various educational institutions.
“This country is doomed because nothing is going on in a positive direction, there is so much pollution, corruption, we do not have good roads, no good sanitation and with this kind of attitude nothing will work here.”
In an answer to if she believes that things would one day get better, she said she highly doubted that, due to the messed up mentality of Ghanaians.
“It will be a difficult thing to say and it is because of our mentality. I mean some of these things have become part of us and until we change who we are, we will still be where we are.
“It starts from the educational system, we lack the all round system where good morals and positivity are taught. I just feel like there are lots of angry people and if our systems are put into good use, I think all these things can fade away.”
Sister Derby recorded and released a single track entitled ‘Uncle Obama’ in 2012, referring to Barack Obama; a song which was featured by United States television network CNN.
She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Publishing Studies from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology followed by a Master Degree in Book/Journal Publishing from the University of the Arts London.
