After two Universities took the lead and stripped Cosby of his honorary degrees last week, another has joined the fray; making it three in less than a week.
Brown University has revoked its honorary degree it awarded to legendary comedian Bill Cosby, following allegations of s*xual assault.
Cosby received the award from the Ivy League University in 1985, at the height of his success. Like Fordham and Marquete before, this was the first time they’ve ever had to rescind an honorary degree.
“It has become clear, by his own admission in legal depositions that became public this summer, that Mr. Cosby has engaged in conduct with women that is contrary to the values of Brown and the qualities for which he was honored by the University in 1985,” President Christina Paxson wrote in an email to the University community announcing the decision.
Over forty women has come forward with allegations against Cosby, mostly alleging he spiked their drinks before having his way with them.
