There’s no doubt in many ways Dr Ben Carson is the ‘most brilliant guy’. He’s a neurosurgeon whose work is rightly lauded in medical circles.
However outside his field he’s far from brilliant. This is a doctor who says evolution is ‘satanic’ and that global warming is a hoax. He’s the greatest embodiment of the phenomenon Bill Maher describes as a ‘smart dumb person’
Maybe he says those things due to political expediency, but he’s also incredibly prone to gaffes in his public speaking.
Kanye West, obviously, disagrees with my assessment. The rapper in speaking to Vanity Fair on his Presidential ambition revealed that hearing Dr Carson speak was amazing.
“As soon as I heard [Ben] Carson speak, I tried for three weeks to get on the phone with him. I was like this is the most brilliant guy.”
