Judge Paul Uuter Dery has sued the Accra International Conference Centre and UTV for contempt of court for airing Anas’ investigative piece into the judiciary.
Judge Dery’s suit claims an injunction was placed on the conference centre to stop them from airing the video but they went ahead to air it anyway.
He also names UTV in the suit for showing portions of the video in Wednesday night’s news. He’s calling for the two organisations to be held in contempt.
‘Ghana in the eyes of God’ is the culmination of a two year investigation into the judicial service conducted by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas. The video was aired at the Accra International Conference Centre on Tuesday, and is set to be aired today (Wednesday) as well.
The video shows several members of the judiciary accepting and other favours to influence their decisions in several legal cases.
