Lil Wayne has been kind of a hostage for some time now. His fifth instalment in the Carter album series is done and dusted, but troubles with the label means it has not seen the light of day.

Conditions with Birdman has deteriorated to the point that a lawsuit has come out of it. Whilst that is ongoing, Lil Wayne tells fans he is still working on a far more amicable solution.

“I do have Tha Carter V finished. What I am working on right now is a way, a deal, and a comfortable deal to put Tha Carter V out.” He told ESPN’s Cari Champion.

Despite everything, and despite dropping two projects since finishing Carter V and not being able to release it, Tunechi says he’s still constantly working on new sounds.

“I work every single day. I’m in the studio every single day. I’m not working on any certain thing, I just be working”

So Tunechi be working. Even if Carter V doesn’t come out soon, who knows what goodies he has in store for us.
