MUSIGA Gears Up For It’s Sixth Quadrennial Delegates’ Congress To Elect New Executives

We can’t wait for the upcoming MUSIGA Elections as Appiah Dankwa, aka Appietus and Gyedu Blay-Ambolley have filed for nominations to battle the incumbent Bice Osei Kuffour, aka Obour in what people see it as a horrendous contest.

Many are of the view that it’s gonna be a ‘cool chop’ for Obour; but Former Secretary of the Ghana’s opposition NPP, Sir John, will tell you to “fear delegates and safe your life.”

In preparation towards the Election Day, the Chairman of Elections Committee of Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Ben Brako says the vetting process of all contestants is slated for Thursday, September 17 at 10:00 am at the MUSIGA office in Accra.

The elections which have been bombarded with lot of controversies will be held in Koforidua from October 29- 31 and it marks the sixth quadrennial delegates’ congress of MUSIGA.

The elected executives will steer the affairs of the group for a four-year term.

According to DailyGuide;

“So far, over 35 forms have been picked for the seven positions being contested. The positions up for contest are the president, 1st vice president, 2nd vice president, general secretary, treasurer, national organiser and national welfare officer.

For the 1st and 2nd vice presidency and treasurer, Bessa Simons, Rev Thomas Yawson and Samuel Kofi Agyemang are unopposed, while for the general secretary, Deborah Freeman the incumbent, is also unopposed.

For the national welfare officer, Pastor Kwesi Duah, Benedict Kolan and Sylvia Amponsah Bosompem are the contestants and Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi is contesting the incumbent Chizzy Wailer for the national organiser position.”
