Obuasi Ashgold beat Sogakope based West African Football Academy (WAFA) by a lone goal to win the 2015 First Capital Plus Premier League trophy.
The win puts the Obuasi based side six points ahead of second placed Aduana Stars with one game to go.
The side thus wins their fourth premier league trophy, the first in 19 years with their last win occurring in 1996.
Striker Emmanuel Osei scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.
In other games, Accra Hearts of Oak secured their safety with a hard fought 3-2 win over Berekum Chelsea in Accra. Amazingly, the team that was battling relegation a couple weeks ago is now fighting for a place in Africa.
Asante Kotoko, smarting from the decision to strip points off them for fielding an unqualified player against Hearts of Oak, beat Sekondi Hasaacas by a late goal to give them some respite from their own relegation woes.
The Ghana Premier League is set to end after the final round of games next Sunday.
First Capital Plus Week 29 Results…

Inter Allies 0-0 Bechem United
Wa All Stars 0-0 Medeama SC
