SC Medeama beat Kotoko to the FA Cup for the second time in three years after picking up a hard fought 2-1 win in the final played at the Essipong Sports Stadium in Sekondi.
The season is gradually drawing to a close and one of the traditional heralds of that is the cup final. And despite defying the odds to reach the final, Kumasi Asante Kotoko fell short against Medeama once again.
Kwasi Donsu put Medeama ahead in the first half, getting on the end of an Ahmed Adams cross. However, Ahmed Toure wasted no time drawing the Porcupine Warriors level.
But Bismark Oppong had other ideas, putting Medeama in the lead again within minutes of coming on. They held on to win the title again, notwithstanding a Richard Mpong goal that was controversially ruled out by the referee.
Medeama last won the title in 2013, when they beat Kotoko to annex it for the first time.
