We try our best to dodge this ‘taboo’ subject but it seems like modernity is overtaking us. The key question is if these people are doing it anyway we should be looking at ways of teaching them about it rather than shunning it.

Numerous surveys has shown, especially in the US, most of the red conservative states that emphasise strict conservative teachings have more problems with teenage pregnancies and abortions and STD’s. It’s a statistic worth munching on.

Our survey also showed most young people have multiple seks partners. Its time we agreed that abstinence ship has long sailed and focus on seks education.

“The number of adolescents having multiple sexual partners in Ghana is on the ascendency, a new survey has revealed.

According to the Ghana Demographic Health survey, 44 percent of young people have sex before age 18.

The report also revealed that these young people didn’t have a comprehensive sexual education to inform their choices.

The report indicated that the implications of this trend are high numbers of teenage pregnancy and out of wedlock childbearing which is an indictment on socio-economic growth of the country.

The survey also outlined that silence, embarrassment, and disapproval of open discussions on issues related to sexual activity by adults, including teachers and parents, at the very time when it is most needed contributed highly to the situation.”
