Graduate unemployment is a big problem currently. Most are home years after gaining their degrees, unable to find jobs in a system that doesn’t have enough jobs to offer.
In that vein, one graduate decided to take the very unusual step of presenting his CV to the first lady when he heard she was in the vicinity. Even the presence of security could not deter this determined soul. Maybe a little more of that in the job search.
According to myjoyonline, 25 year old Samuel Adu Kwaakye decided to present an application letter and his CV to the First Lady when she was in Kumasi working on an HIV Prevention campaign.
Kwaakye told reporters that since graduating from school two years ago, he has sent out over 30 applications without any response.
He holds a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Development Studies.
The first lady was in Asante Mampong to launch a campaign for prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission.
At least he gets an A for effort.
