Growing up in the 90’s there were few programs that brought everybody to sit behind the black and white tv set and enjoy some television.
‘Obra’, starring several of the biggest stars back then was one of those. And back then we had some bonafide acting talent and movies, not the dross we’re served to currently.
Grace Omaboe, aka Maame Dokono, one of those big stars, has confirmed the show is coming back. according to her they’re working on a reboot of the classic with a return of some of the original cast. Obviously including herself, and David Dontoh.
She revealed the big news on the Starr Drive with Bola Ray and Anita Erskine.
“Yes ‘Obra’ is coming back. It’s being filmed and it will come back to your screens,” she said enthusiastically.
For more details though, she said Ghanaians would have to wait but promised it would be exciting.
Soon Nana Ampadu’s melancholic Obra would be blaring out tv screens again.
