Social media comes with it own problems—but it seems it’s not only what you say on there that can get you arrested. What you decide to LIKE can also fetch you an arrest….
Justin Bellanco, 26, in Pennsylvania, USA, was on Tuesday charged with violating a no-contact restraining order by allegedly liking 22 photos and videos on his ex-girlfriend’s Facebook page.
Justin Bellanco who was subject to restraining order after he allegedly threatened to shoot the girlfriend’s knee cap to “watch her suffer” perhaps thought LIKING her photos and videos on Facebook was not a breach of the imposed order.
Bellanco was told he could not have any contact with the woman for one year and that included social media—but from what he did, we think he did not consider LIKING a photo as a contact but law enforcement officers do.
The victim, a 24 year old woman told police Monday Bellanco “liked” 22 pictures and photos on her page—and that she also spotted Bellanco outside the police department as she was leaving.
Officers arrested the suspect Bellanco and he was later released on $5,000 bail.
