Dede Ayew played his first English Premier League game on Saturday, August 8; and the Ghana international did not take long to make his presence felt.
With his team Swansea City taking on league champions Chelsea, it wasn’t going to be an easy introduction to English football, but Andre passed with flying colours.
After Chelsea had taken a first half lead through Oscar, Dede pulled Swansea level with a well taken effort.
Gomis’ header was stopped by Cortouis, before Ayew’s first effort was blocked by the Chelsea defence. Nobody could stop the rebound, though, and the game ended 2-2.
Jordan also made his debut for Aston Villa, but that did not go quite as expected. The Villains won 1-0 against Bournemouth, although the goal was scored by Jordan’s direct replacement, which does not speak so well of his first eleven chances going forward.
On this evidence, Andre would set England on fire; Jordan has his work cut out for him quite a bit.
