Aston Villa has officially announced the capture of Ghana striker Jordan Ayew on a five year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Jordan Ayew’s move came close to falling through after his former club changed their demands last minute, but Jordan stood his ground and thus joins his elder brother in the English Premier League.
“I’m really pleased to bring Jordan to the football club,” Villa manager Tim Sherwood said.
“He is a fantastic young player who is perfectly suited to the Premier League.”
Jordan scored 13 goals in 28 appearances for Lorient last season. He is to be the direct replacement for Christian Benteke, the bulwark forward whom the midlands club sold to Liverpool earlier this summer.
