I never had any doubt this was how this saga was going to end. It was doing real damage to the NDC, and they were going to shut it down sooner or later.
Matilda Amissah Arthur decided to blow off some steam when a headmistress innocently asked for some chalk. The second lady flew into a rage saying they wouldn’t get check today, tomorrow, or forever.
It outraged a lot of people, and today Mrs Amissah-Arthur has come out to apologise. She said her comments were meant to encourage ‘community participation’ and that if anyone was offended she apologises.
If anyone was offended? These politicians would kill us…
“On Wednesday, I went to Kukurantumi to make a presentation of five computers and 500 books to the Presby Basic School upon a request I received. A comment I made has been in the media since then.
“I have for some years now been supporting them in my own small way by making donations to them.
“I was completely taken aback when the headmistress asked for chalk. My response was intended to encourage community participation in the school. If what I said has offended people I use this opportunity to say ‘I’m very sorry’.”
It’s probably not any sort of genuine apology or it wouldn’t contain the word if, but with Ghanaian politicians this is the best you’re going to get.
Watch the second lady apologise below…
