Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang

In a speech read on behalf of the Education Minister, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang at a sod cutting ceremony at Paakuso in the Ashanti Region says; Government is on course to roll out policy of progressively Free Senior High School (SHS).

According to Samuel Baryeh who read the address on her behalf, Government will absorb the school fees of day students in the first phase of the project.

Samuel added that all measures have been put in place, after an advice from a technical implementation committee.

The statement also warned students against truancy as government gears up to kick-start the project.

During the 2012 election campaigns, President Mahama promised quality education whilst Nana Addo Dankwa of the NPP campaigned on Free Senior High School for the Ghanaian children of which his opponents doubted the possibilities of implementing such a policy….

We are yet to see the quality education President Mahama promised so why is he so quick to opt for this policy instead of our quality and better education?
