Chile’s Parliament Votes To Legalise Marijuana For Medicinal Purposes

Weed

The Chilean legislature has approved a bill that allows for individuals to grow a certain amount of marijuana legally, so long as it’s for medicinal purposes.

Joining a burgeoning number of nations worldwide decriminalising the plant, the bill passed by 68 votes for to 39 against, according to the BBC.

Hitherto any activity involving marijuana was illegal, and was punishable by up to 15 years in jail. What this bill does is allow for the medicinal use, although the recreational use of weed still remains illegal.

The bill now has to obtain approval from the health commission, and then the Senate; before the President can assent it into law.

Several countries worldwide has decriminalised marijuana use, including Uruguay, Jamaica, The Netherlands, and 20 states of the USA.

This means Blakk Rasta would not be going through all he is suffering if he had only been from one of those countries.
