The Ghanaians who are so busy here contesting a decision that has no bearing on our miserable lives, such as so-called best journalist Manasseh Awuni; can rest easy knowing there are such hate-filled bigots out there doing the fighting for them.
An American minister based in Iowa, who occasionally performs gay marriages, received a terrible note from a neighbour who was disgusted that he officiates gay marriages.
Reverend Gilbert McBride, who recently lost his wife and is still in mourning, discovered the note on the bonnet of his car one morning.
The disgruntled writer notes that his affinity with homosexuals is what has led to God punishing him by taking away his wife’s life. The bigot, who took his time to neatly type his note; hoped that Rev McBride contracts AIDS from his gay friends and dies ‘a slow and ugly death’.
The person wrote….
Reverend McBride,
“We recently discovered that you perform same sex weddings. That disturbs many of us in this community.
“Normally when someone in town dies the community comes together to do what we can for that person’s family. As you may or may not have noticed is when your wife died, no one came and brought meals or even so much as condolences.
“That’s because as a minister that performs gay weddings, you deserve all the bad that you brought upon yourself.
“Your wife died because God hates you for the abomination you have become by preaching his word while also catering to queers. We in this community hope you suffer as much as possible and realize that unless you change your faggot friendly ways, your suffering will only get worse. Do this town and your family a favor and get a rope and hang yourself.
“People like you disgust us. We don’t want or need your kind around us making our town look worse. I personally hope you die a slow and ugly death.
“Maybe you can catch aids from your friends. Just die. ”
It’s kind of funny that those who claim to follow Jesus are often the most un-Christ-like people ever.
Unfortunately for them, the world is moving towards a more accepting future, where the close-mindedness and sanctioned bigotry of organised religion would rightfully take a step back to secular mentalities.
And I would enjoy them moaning every step of the way as we move towards that future.
