Eminem has been awarded by the Radio Industry Association of America (RIAA), for becoming the first artiste in history to earn two Digital Diamond awards.
The Digital Diamond Award is given to an artiste who’s able to sell ten million copies of a song. Eminem did it, TWICE; necessitating this special award handed to the ‘Rap God’
The two songs that helped him reach this milestone are ‘Not Afraid’ and ‘Love the way you Lie’, both from 2010’s Recovery album.
“We are delighted to recognize Eminem as the first artist to earn two RIAA Digital Diamond Awards. This singular achievement – earning a Diamond Award on two separate digital songs – is unparalleled, and we congratulate him on forever etching a mark in Gold & Platinum Program history.” The association said in a statement.
Selling ten million copies for one song; our artistes here struggle to sell even 100 copies. Not that it’s particularly their fault, our system is broken.
