Lil Wayne Says ‘I Just Signed A Deal With Jay Z’ But Manager Says It’s Not What You Think

Over the weekend rapper Lil-Wayne shouted on stage “I just signed a deal with my motherf–king idol, Jay Z,” at KMEL Summer Jam 2015.

With 51 million lawsuit brought by Wayne against his hip hop father-Birdman of Cash Money Records and the many disagreement with the label which he has in the past shared on twitter hovering around, people took the above announcement to mean, ‘Lil Wayne has signed with Jay Z’s Roc Nation label’.

But it’s far from that….

Lil Wayne’s manager-Cortez Bryant told Billboard that, it’s not a recordsigning but rather Lil Wayne was referring to his involvement with Tidal, Jay Z’s music subscription service.

Lil Wayne joined Tidal as a co-owner this month, according to Forbes, and dropped an exclusive new track “Glory” to celebrate—and it’s this that “the Internet and blogs took his words out of context,” Bryant told Billboard.

“When Wayne was speaking about the partnership with Jay Z, he was speaking about his new deal as an artist owner with Tidal,” the manager added.

Fans may be disappointed but with this partnership, you never know what next Wayne and Carter can do together…
