Chris Rock and wife Malaak are in court trying to agree on the final monetary settlements of their impending divorce.

The pair announced last year that they’re divorcing, and now the wheels for that long process is turning. They have agreed to 50-50 child custody; but it’s now left with the little issue of how much of Rock’s $70m fortune his wife is entitled to.

Court documents sighted by Page Six shows Malaak making a case to receive a huge chunk of the fortune: she says she gave up a career to raise their kids, and to keep herself busy did charity work on the side.

She therefore believes she deserves a payout “commensurate with the marital standard of living” because of all her child-rearing and charitable endeavours

Basically she’s saying ‘I stopped working to raise your kids, and I’m now accustomed to an A-list lifestyle; so the fact I’m divorcing you doesn’t mean I don’t get to enjoy this lifestyle anymore’ or something like that.

It sounds like it’s going to be an interesting $70m battle.
