The Church is the richest institution in the world and yet it pays no tax—pretty interesting. But then, who will have the dangling stinking balls to ask God the almighty to pay tax to him? Even Russia’s notorious Putin cannot do it.
So we rather have to keep paying 1/10 of our money plus extra to the church all the time—for a promised divine blessing and also for the welfare of the already rich institution with the hope that the institution will reach out to others when they are in need, on our behalf.
If you did not know, the church has more money than the bank of Ghana so any time you need a loan, talk to the pastors and see if indeed they are positioned on this earth by God to help anyone in anyway.
Despite how rich the church is, far richer than EIB Network (owners of Starr FM who donated 55,000 GHS together with their associates to the flood victims)—most of these churches could not dig into the church bank account to bring out some ‘big money’ to help the recent Accra Flood/Filling Station blast victims. Instead, the churches have launched several appeals, asking people to bring in extra money and relief to be channelled to the victims.
Pathetically, the Action Chapel International (ACI) brought out only GH¢70,000 and $10,000 while the National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches (NACCC) and the Whitaker Group added just GH¢20,000. Yeah, the watches and perfumes the head of Action Chapel International (ACI)-Archbishop Duncan-Williams wears probably cost more than all the above money the churches initially brought to set up the relief fund—which is mainly set up to collect people’s cash.
Don’t forget that in 2011, Bishop Duncan Williams was reported to have said during a speech at the first graduation ceremony of Action Chapel International Bible College in Kumasi that “he was so expensive that the perfume he used could not be found on the shelf of any shop in the country.” So you can imagine the price of this perfume we are talking about here.
What at all is the church doing with all the money they keep extorting from the members if in time of need like this, it will still come out to ask that the members who they continue to tax each day have to bring out some more money before they can adequately reach out to those in true need?
Personally, I see no sense in giving any church my money; they are already rich and they don’t actually need the money. God has all the diamonds and gold in heaven so he is not interested in some devalued cedis or worthless dollars too.
And for that divine blessing the pastors’ promise, it’s false. I have not given any money to any church in a long time and I am still here, not dead or totally broke yet—I rather donate to UNICEF each month. That is my little contribution to humanity, far better than giving it to these pastors who own fleet of cars and private jets.
The best and direct way to make an impact is to hand out your contribution to humanity (be it your tithe or regular offering) to the poor people you meet on the street. You don’t need any middle man to be able to help others—because the already rich middlemen called pastors become the unintended beneficiaries.
Archbishop Duncan-Williams’ Action Chapel is damn rich with millions of dollars sitting in their bank accounts and yet like the other churches which are equally rich; it brought out just a peanut to launch a donation campaign for the flood victims. What stops the already rich church headed by a rich Archbishop who says people are envious of success to dig deep into the church’s coffers or his own rich bank account to make a real impact making donation? Why must the poor masses bring some more money before this can be achieved?
We have private institutions which do not collect regularly monies from the masses under any long-standing sham schemes like ‘tithes and offering’ making huge donation to the flood victims. But the church cannot do the same—it still has to go back to the people to take more, upon all that it has been collecting since ‘Adam’.
Since the divine promise of blessings by the church for cheerful givers cleverly placed at 2 Corinthians 9:7 is obviously false and the church is ever reluctant to help those in need, why do people continue to give their monies to the church?
If God actually blesses a cheerful giver as the church preaches, then the pastors should have been the last on the blessing list because they hardly give—they only receive. Yet, they are the individuals receiving the biggest portion of the blessings.
Next Sunday, give your money to the poor man or woman near your house instead of handing it out to this fraudulent institution called the church.
I have no problem with relief funds being set up when a disaster strikes but if a rich institution like the church wants to set one up, it has to dig deeper into its coffers, more than the above churches have did. The church takes a lot from the people and yet it gives very little to the same people it continues to steal from…
