The capital was hit by torrential rain yesterday that has led to flooding of many households, yet the worst disaster was not even the rain.
Fire engulfed a GOIL filling station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle last night, spreading to adjoining buildings and leading to the deaths of over 100 Ghanaians.
Most of the victims were seeking shelter there from the rain, which had already made most of the capital inaccessible and left many stranded miles from their places of abode.
The Fire Service has stopped the blaze, but the carnage left in its wake is terrible; over 100 dead, many more stranded and having lost their homes and properties to the terrible floods.
From the looks of things, the rains are just starting to come. We find ourselves in a terrible predicament.
