A recently published survey by Thompson Reuters has listed the University of Ghana, Legon, as the 10th top university on the continent.
The survey, carried out over a four year period (2010-2014) and with respondents from all over the world, tried to rank the world’s tertiary institutions by the power of their reputation as determined by respondents, both regionally and globally.
In Africa, South African Universities held a monopoly over the rankings, occupying the top 7 spots. Makes me wonder where they got their respondents from.
Globally, Harvard University took the cake, with 7 other US universities in the top 10. Universities of Cambridge and Oxford were the only UK appearances.
