Nigeria’s president elect-Muhammadu Buhari flew into Nigeria via British Airways from London to Abuja last night, ahead of his official inauguration–and the conversation on social media is about the fact that Buhari who just had a meeting with David Cameron was spotted on board the Economy class of British Airways.

Tomorrow, the man will become the president of Nigeria and so when a twitter user spotted him on the flight, he quickly pulled his smart phone for the above shot.

It’s pretty interesting that the lowest Nigerian/Ghanaian celebrity will not even want to fly economy, yet the president-elect of the country with the biggest economy in Africa flew premium economy to his own inauguration.

Perhaps, it’s just a stunt to win more souls and to show Nigerians that he is down to earth. All the same, this shows that no matter your status, you won’t die if you fly cheap…

  1. This is an exemplary life I hope he makes changes in Nigeria so our other African leaders can emulate and our so call ‘Ghana Celebrities’ who spend more than they earn like the lives of Sandra Ankobia and the rest. I hope our corrupt and extravagant leaders are watching cos as small as our country is every politician wanna make money out of it.

  4. Hmm great example. The ambassadors of most of European embassies sit in economy. While our minister’s sit in first class on the same flight. Meanwhile they finance our budget.

  5. Nice I think he is starting on a good note and we wish him well.Well I don’t know how many pple remember this man and his principles. Most Nigerians will tell you he was a no nonsense and an anti corruption crusader to the core,I just hope he can get support of the whole country with less sabotage from his team. For the issue of flying economy it’s only in Africa we find flying first class or business a priority or a must bcos in history a lot of western leaders have done likewise.Even if he did it for d cameras I hope our leaders learn and take cue.

  6. But if someone can afford first class and wants to sit in it what is your own? Does it make someone a bad person because they want comfort?
