Fox Television Green Lights New Show ‘Lucifer’ For 2016 Premiere

Imagine in the near future Satan gets tired of running hell, so he leaves the underworld and retires to Los Angeles to run a bar named ‘Lux’.

Blasphemous, right? Yet that’s the premise of a new show set to air on Fox in 2016, the eponymously titled supernatural drama Lucifer. Of course if the devil retired he’d go to America, and of course he’d go to Los Angeles.

Fox has green lighted the show to go ahead, starring Tom Ellis in the main role of Lucifer Morningstar. Apparently, he ‘is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell and resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the beauty of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals’

If I know my countrymen, people are going to recoil at the idea of Lucifer as a force for good, and probably having a girlfriend and finding love along the way. Maybe God would send down Gabriel so we get to watch an epic fight; that alone would make the series worth watching.

‘Lucifer’ premieres in 2016, with executive producers Tim Kapinos and Len Weisman.
