You remember when Mzbel broke the Ghanaian internet, when she said the Jesus story is made up. The grief she has taken for that comment from the dogmatic society we come from is unbelievable.
There’s this trend where we find it fashionable to attack people who hold contrary opinions, especially when it comes to religion. Are we so indoctrinated that we cannot even appreciate that people can hold a different opinion and not necessarily be a ‘bad’ person or an ‘evil’ person.
Anyway, UK based gospel singer Jojo de Mens spoke to News-One, and had some very interesting things to say about Mzbel. His gist was that she had gained knowledge, but lacked the understanding to fully appreciate it. He therefore thinks her conclusions are flawed and her position on Jesus not informed.
He is reported to have said, according to Daily Guide..
“I don’t know to what extent Mzbel’s research has gone but the only thing I will tell her is that the Bible says knowledge is a principal thing. Seek knowledge but in all the knowledge you [acquire], get understanding because if you don’t get understanding of the knowledge you have acquired, then the knowledge becomes nothing.
“Whatever research she did is limited. After she read whatever she had read, has she sought an understanding of it? Did you try to find another understanding to compare and contrast?
What research did she do? What evidences have she got?
She lacks understanding because when it comes to the Bible, it is not just picking things literally as it is said or spoken or it is written. Some of the things are spiritual”
Ok, first of all I find it ironic that any person of faith would ask for evidence of anything. Sometimes I think Christians forget the definition of faith. It’s actually secular people, logical people, scientific people, who peddle in evidence. The lack of evidence never stops Christians, or anyone really, from believing in God.
The Horus myth is public knowledge, as well as those of other ancient gods whose stories reflects the Jesus one. It is Jojo whose source of knowledge, the Bible, that is suspect. If you haven’t been bombarded from birth about its authenticity, the bible is at best a historical document whose veracity is a teeny bit dodgy.
“Mzbel lacks understanding of the Bible. She needs to go out there to seek for forgiveness” were Jojo’s final words.
‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father, except through me’
If Mzbel doesn’t believe in the son, and you can’t get to the father except through the son- I wonder how she’s supposed to ask for this forgiveness. She’s surely screwed.
