Jamie Foxx To Sing ‘Star Spangled Banner’ To Open Mayweather-Pacquiao Bout

We’re in the home stretch now, less than a week and the excitement level is just getting crazy.

Both fighters are in serious training for the bout, and now the organizers are finalizing preparations. One issue is who would sing the national anthem to open the bout.

As with anything surrounding this fight, only the best would do. Jamie Foxx has been contracted by HBO to sing the US national anthem before the ‘Money Man’ himself makes his appearance in the ring.

“Another HUUUGE boxing role for Jamie Foxx – ’cause he’s just been tapped to sing the national anthem at the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight! Our sources confirm … Foxx — who’s starring as Mike Tyson in an upcoming biopic — was recently approached about belting out the “Star-Spangled Banner” … and jumped at the chance! Foxx is a major boxing fan – and famously starred as Muhammad Ali’s right-hand man Drew Bundini Brown in “Ali.”

The legendary Michael Buffer and Jimmy Lennon Jnr would introduce the fighters- the legendary Floyd Snr and Freddie Roach training the two boxers.

Two legendary, future hall of famers- it’s the fight of the century indeed.
