He may have been quiet on the music front for a while but that doesn’t mean the party’s gotta stop.
Nelly was arrested on Saturday morning in Tennessee when a bus he was travelling in was stopped by police because it did not have the legally required stickers. One of the officers supposedly smelled marijuana, and so they carried out a drug search on the vehicle.
What they discovered was shocking. According to a statement released by The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security;
“The troopers discovered in the sleeper area a plastic bag that contained five colored crystal-type rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as a small amount of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
Further investigation revealed approximately 100 small Ziploc bags that are commonly associated with the sale of narcotics and numerous handguns, including a gold-plated 50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol, a 45-caliber Tarus pistol, and a 500 magnum Smith and Wesson”
There were six people on board the bus, but it was Nelly and another passenger, Brian Jones, a convicted felon, that were arrested and sent to Putnam County Jail.
The rapper has been charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has been released on bail.
