It’s definitely going to be an interesting one—and the 2016 race will be fierce now that former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has formally declared she is going to run for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.

She launched her campaign website on Sunday, telling Americans she wanted to be their “champion” and that “Everyday Americans need a champion. And I want to be that champion.”  She added, “So I’m hitting the road to earn your vote — because it’s your time. And I hope you’ll join me on this journey.”

Mrs Clinton ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008 but lost to Barack Obama. The overwhelming Democratic favourite, she had been expected to declare her candidacy for months, reports the BBC.

The website added that; “This time around, Mrs Clinton’s path to the Democratic nomination appears much easier. Unlike 2008 there’s no inspirational, once-in-a-generation opponent like Mr Obama waiting in the wings.”
