NDC Activists Drag Nana Akuffo Addo To Court | Asks High Court To Declare Him Unfit For President

Two NDC activists George Spencer Quaye and Alex Doe have dragged the NPP flagbearer Nana Akuffo Addo to court, praying the Accra High Court to declare him unfit to become president of Ghana.

Their suit is in relation to allegations that the former Attorney General failed to hand over two official 4×4 vehicles when he stepped down from office and continued using them.

They also claim he used the vehicles in campaigning for the 2008 general elections, in the suit sighted by myjoyonline.

The duo are asking the court for “a declaration that the act of the defendant to keep the said vehicle for his private use is unacceptable for somebody aspiring to be president of the Republic of Ghana or an act of a person unfit to be the leader of the Republic of Ghana”

This action mirrors a suit filed by Occupy Ghana against Joe Oteng Adjei, a former energy minister who also kept some government vehicles for years after leaving office, only returning them when the story broke to the public.

So the NPP is calling the suit a sort of ‘revenge’ suit, though I guess that would be determined in court.
