Boston Marathon Bomber-Dzhokar Tsarnaev Found Guilty: Faces Death Penalty

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev stands beside his lawyer, Judy Clarke, as the verdict is read in court.

The man at the centre of the 2013 Boston Marathhon bombings, Dzhokar Tsarnaev,  has been found guilty on all 30 charges that he faced for the bombings.

The jury hearing the case in Boston, Massachussetts, would deliberate on the sentence he’s supposed to receive. Some of the charges carry the death penalty.

Dzhokar, 21, and his brother Tamerlan planted bombs close to the finish line during the 2013 edition of te world famous marathon. The explosion killed three people, injuring over 260 others.

Tamerlan died in the manhunt for the pair, but Dzhokar was arrested and placed on trial. He admitted his role, but lawyers attempted to spin the case as him being manipulated by his elder brother into committing the acts.

That defence did not fly, and he now faces the death penalty, or at the very least life imprisonment.

It’s a good day whenever an extremist is given their just desserts.
