The cry against corruption in Nigeria under Goodluck Jonathan’s government was no different from what we are experiencing in Ghana—and considering how the electorates rejected corruption by voting out Goodluck Jonathan and his bunch, the question is; can Ghanaians do the same?

Former President-Jerry John Rawlings who has on multiple occasions accused the Mahama-led NDC government of corruption has stated that, “Nigerians have taken the lead in the rejection of corruption”—meaning Ghana must follow…

So are Ghanaains ready to end the NDC reign which they call corrupt? Read J.J Rawlings’ full statement below

“Nigerians have taken the lead in the rejection of corruption.

“The election result is a manifestation of the people’s resolve to confront corruption, dishonesty and exploitation. This is a clear message to the new leadership. A bold step has been taken towards a new Nigeria and the incoming leader cannot be unaware of what is expected of him.

“Nigerians did not vote for just anyone. They voted for a man whose integrity is extremely high. Nigeria is tired of corruption and the choice of this leader is a clear indication of where she wants to go. I hope General Buhari will put together a team whose understanding of the power of the people recognizes and respects the will of the people.

“General Buhari owes it to his people and to Black Africans, the restoration of our pride and the black man’s dignity.

“The image of President Jonathan, a Nigerian Head of State climbing up the stairs to go and complain about Boko Haram to a French President is an image I hope I will not see again.”

  1. I thought Jerry had stopped smoking cheap weed now that he’s got tons of the nation’s money stashed away in his bank accounts. Apparently not!. Nigerians don’t vote away corruption. They vote it in. No government in Nigeria’s history has been clean. They all loot. Not only money but degrees and accolades. One son of a former dictator had 175 million dollars stashed in the ceiling of his house. Who remembers Umaru Diko? Corruption is the life blood of Nigerians. They can’t reject any more than they can reject air. It is therefore insane to think that is what they did here. Buhari was corrupt during his tenure so nothing is going to change. Nigerians don’t abhor corruption they enjoy it. If you are a head of state and you don’t steal more than 1 billion dollars, you are nothing. They prefer their “ogas” to steal big money. Look at Obasanjo, after stealing tons of money as a military ruler he returned as a civilian and added more money to his loot. Now he parades around as an elderly statesman. Perhaps that is what Jerry is trying to do here. Trying to pass himself off as decent guy worthy of the title – elderly statesman. But considering his record, from skinny ass yoo-ke-gari eating flight lieutenant to this fat faced oga with million dollar mansions, this is rich coming from him.
Pot meet kettle. He thinks you are too black.
Someone should show him his before and after pictures. Those of us in Ghana when he came to power thought he was going to fix the system. Instead he ended up lining his pockets. Setting the stage for the next looter and the next.
Africans reject corruption? Tweeeeeeaaaaaaa!! Don’t make me laugh.
