As Nigerians await for the declaration of the winner of the 2015 presidential election, the United States and Britain have expressed concerned about rigging in the counting of the votes, reports BBC Africa.

This comes at a time some Nigerians are worried that the incumbent government would influence the results—and there is speculation of the results of certain areas having been altered.

BBC Africa wrote on its facebook:

“Britain and the United States have expressed concern about rigging in the counting of votes after Nigeria’s elections. In a joint statement, they said they had seen disturbing indications that there has been political interference with the collation process. The BBC Africa correspondent says the mood in the capital Abuja is jittery. Most observer missions had praised Saturday’s vote. The election commission says there will be a strong indication of who has won the presidential election by the end of today and that the final result should be announced on Tuesday”
