Harry Styles cried on stage hours after hearing his One Direction band mate Zayn Malik has quit the group.

Styles broke down while performing in Jakarta with the remaining band mates — Harry, Louis, Liam and Niall. The 21-year-old ex-boyfriend of Taylor Swift was very much overcome by emotion as he fought back tears.

This afternoon, Harry Styles and the rest of group member released a statement following Zayn’s exit.

“We’re really sad to see Zayn go, but we totally respect his decision and send him all our love for the future. The past five years have been beyond amazing, we’ve gone through so much together, so we will always be friends. The four of us will now continue. We’re looking forward to recording the new album and seeing all the fans on the next stage of the world tour,” the four-time Brit Awards winners shared.
