Quite often pastors are a little more subtle with their exploitation, but Reverend Creflo Dollar seems to have thrown that out the window, deciding to go all out in this scheme which some gullible idiots are going to spend their hard earned money on.

The aptly named Rev Dollar, head of the World Changers Church International, put a notice on his church’s website, pleading for help to replace their old jet which developed a fault. According to MailOnline, the church was aiming for a Gulfstream G650, the latest model in private jets which only the top billionaires in the world can afford.

The petition aimed to get 200,000 people worldwide to donate $300 each, to raise the $65m needed for the Gulfstream. According to the appeal, the jet is a necessity, to enable the church continue their good works.

“We believe it is time to replace the aircraft so our pastors and staff can continue to safely and swiftly share the Good News of the Gospel worldwide. We need your help to continue reaching a lost and dying world for the Lord Jesus Christ”

Creflo is already known for being one of the most extravagant ministers out there, owning two Rolls Royce’s and multimillion dollar homes in Atlanta and New Jersey. The favour of the Lord seems to reside heavily in this man.

Following significant backlash, the church took down the petition from their site. Still, it shows how some supposed men of God can exploit those who place all their trust in them for their own gain. Left to their devices I’m pretty sure they’ll have raised even much more than they asked for, so blind are people when it comes to matters of religion.
