Did Lupita really wear a fake dress and passed it off as a $150,000 one?
You’ll recall the actresses’ stunning custom designed gown she wore to this year’s Oscars, and how it was stolen a short while later from her hotel room.
The gown was supposedly ‘custom designed by Francisco Costa, and was adorned with 6,000 natural white pearls’
Well TMZ reports the gown was returned to the London Hotel in West Hollywood, where it was initially stolen. The thief called TMZ and told them the gown could be found, claiming it was a worthless fake.
Apparently they took the dress to the garment district for an appraisal, and received the shock of their lives when they were told it was not real.
TMZ informed Police of the info, and the bag was found exactly where the thief said it would be found.
So what thief returns to the scene of their crime to return the property they stole? This thief says he did it because he wants the world to know “Hollywood’s fake bullshit”

Other celebrities at the Grammy wore far more expensive gowns than hers. Why was hers stolen for appraisal? Probably because she is black.
