Kid Dies Just 2 Weeks After Starring in Yvonne Nelson’s Movie?

This sad story reminds me of what became a taboo in the days of Akan Drama and Thursday Theatre…

From what I heard then, someone played dead in one of those dramas and few weeks later, the person really died. And as such, it sort of became a taboo or fearsome for anyone to play a role that entails the person dying.

What I believe started happening was that, the dramas will start with people crying and holding some sort of funeral; indicating that someone has died—but you would never get to see the person who died or any actor playing a role of the dead.

Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson took to instagram today to make a sad announcement that the little kid (Kweku) she is holding in her hands (photos above and below) has passed away—just 2 weeks after featuring in her soon to be released movie.

It’s pretty sad—and we hope this does not means mothers will start getting worried about their kids being featured in Ghanaian movies…

Knowing Ghana, we hope people do not come out claiming Yvonne Nelson’s movie killed him..

    • Chris has started already, he thinks he is smart, we all know the level of hatred you have for Yvonne. So couldn’t you have written this piece in a more different way. I wonder how you would have presented it if it was Jackie. Have my condolence Yvonne. Gh loves you. Mtcheeeeeeew.

  2. It breaks my heart when ever I hear of the demise of a little one. My prayers goes to the family and Miss Nelson. I am proud that this kid had a purpose in this life after all. Cerebral malformation is one of those diseases you hardly hear people shining a light on so I am happy Miss Nelson has made a movie about this heinous disease. Fare well Kweku.

  3. First of all its very heart breaking to see this lil boy die so earlier. Its very unfortunate but God only know his reasons. I just don’t understand why people trying to point figure at YN. She has nothing to do with his death, just cos he was featured in her movies, and unfortunately died few weeks after doesn’t mean YN has something to do with it. Ghanaian will always create a story when there’s non to be told. RIP Kkweku. My heart really goes to his family

  4. I’ve read stuff here that gets me angry but this tops it all…I never comment but de fact that GC is using a child who was poorly to get at Yvonne Nelson is disgusting. We all know how GC doesn’t like Yvonne Nelson but couldn’t u have made de story about de poor little boy, must u be always be so negative??? If u’re going to report something about someone at least do your readers justice by putting de whole story out der…where is de bit about de child having cerebral malformation, couldn’t sit, eat, stand or evn speak??? U guys are so unprofessional I don’t even know what to say. Ynonne, we all know how you’re hurting…RIP Kweku

  5. The poor boy suffered from cerebral palsy, yet his mother allowed him to shoot long hours. His fragile body probably could not stand withstand all that pressure under the hot sun. Just saying. What YN could have done was have another kid play the role. This boy was sick and should not have featured in the movie to begin.
