4. The People Are Just Talkers Backed By No Action: A hallmark of a Ghanaian is that, he/she can talk till day break—especially when there is a problem but this same person does nothing to resolve the situation.
Talk is cheap and therefore we can all say whatever we want—and those in charge of affairs in Ghana know this about us. Just do whatever you want and embrace yourself for few days or months of talking—after which, they will shut up while you benefit hugely and solely.
Maybe Abraham Lincoln was wrong; democracy is not a government of the people by the people and for the people—because in Ghana, nothing is being done by the government to mirror this—and the people are not also doing anything to show they are the fountainhead of the government.
We lack the ability to act but we are full of the energy to talk. Who cares about the many social media talks if there is no threat of imminent danger?
The last time I shouted to my cat while in Spain via a webcam, it just looked at me on the screen and jumped—perhaps, saying to itself; what the f**k are you gonna do?
The question is; what are Ghanaians going to do apart from just keep talking?
