The Republic of Ghana seems serious about not discontinuing the KKD rape trial following the alleged victim’s expression of dis-interest in the case.

Kwesi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) has been served with with a bill of indictment for allegedly raping the 19-year-old girl—and he was in court yesterday supported by his father (photo above).

The serving of the bill of indictment comes with the summary of evidence and witnesses who would give evidence in the case—and this means, the road is set for the committal hearing of the case.

It seems like the State is not moved by attempts by certain big ‘men and women’ to have the case discontinued—and the reason could be that, the prosecutor does not want to send a wrong signal to people that; you can go about breaking the laws of Ghana if you have money, influence or status…

In Court yesterday, the prosecution told the Kaneshie Magistrate Court that “the state had also filed the bill of indictment processes at the Fast Track High Court, where the case would be transferred to after the committal stage,” Graphic Newspaper reports.

In line with the Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr Moses Atibilla’s plea for the court to adjourn the hearing for a week for the committal hearing to commence—the court adjourned the case to 5th February, 2015.

Meanwhile, GhanaCelebrities.Com has received some audios from KKD—doing some sort of preaching and giving out motivational speeches…

  1. Waste of time and resources by the state which has no case. Mboasem! An attempt to distract Ghanaians from the crappy situation of dumsor and dry water taps. If the state really gives a damn it should be pursuing Nyantakyi, the GFA, National Service Secretariat and the rest of the national pickpockets. This is a cynical ploy to save face.
