The incumbent National Democratic Congress held their National Delegates Congress in Kumasi yesterday December 20 to elect new executives to steer the activities of the party going forward.
Both President Mahama and former President Rawlings were present at the keenly contested elections which had been billed as ‘General Mosquito’ vs the ex-President.
And Rawlings’ protégé Kofi Adams did not disappoint, winning the National Organiser slot with a landslide over the incumbent Yaw Boateng Gyan. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah retained his position as General Secretary, whilst the boss of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Kofi Portuphy, wrestled the Chairmanship from Dr Kwabena Adjei to complete the holy trinity of top executives.
Koku Anyidoho won his poll to become first deputy general secretary, whilst former Attorney General Betty Mould Iddrisu also was elected as a vice chairman of the party.
