The boss of EXOPA Modelling Agency-Ibrahim Sima who was arrested and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for attempting to smuggle narcotic drugs out of Ghana has died while serving his sentence at Nsawam prison.
Ibrahim Sima was arrested on September 7, 2009 at the Kotoka International Airport when a search on his luggage revealed tubers of yam in which were embedded narcotic substances.
Officers of the Narcotics Control Board led the convict (then suspect) to his residents where a bread knife (which was allegedly used to cut the yam) and super glue which was used to seal the items were found and presented as evidence in court.
Sima denied the charges and told officials of the Narcotics Control Board, who interrogated him after his arrest, that the yams were given to him by one Salifu who resides in Nima, a suburb of Accra, to be given to a friend for a fee of 3,000 Euros.
After years of legal maneuvering, the court, presided over by Justice Charles Quist found him guilty of the charges.
According to reports, Sima suffered an injury from a football match which could have caused his death—but before that, he had complained of headache.
He was rushed to the Police Hospital last night where he died.
The way his life just ended is just sad
Very sad yeah
am i the only person who suspects he is still alive and its just a cover up?the Prison break style?if Nayele could go for a make over and come back undetaected then any hollywood style is possible in this our GH OO…
Really sad RIP
Such a young man too. This narcotics life. Hm
the police arent saying the truth. he didn’t die in the police hospital. the guy was given para when he complained of pains. No one paid attention to him even after he had reported he had vomited blood and even when they did in the evening of Thursday they were they should have rushed him 37 like the doctors advised but our usual bureaucratic procedures were at full display leading to his death
Regardless, i think he should be celebrated.he made a stupid decision but didn’t deserve to die in this unceremonious way
