Nayele might be going to jail very soon but down here the security agencies are not resting on their laurels, determined to bust what must be a very massive underground ring looking at how the events unfolded.
Nine people were initially arrested including the two ladies who apparently travelled with her through the VIP lounge at the airport on that fateful day. The latest arrest is that of a businessman called Alhaji Dawood, believed to be the man who gained the ladies entry through the VIP lounge.
After the arrest of the foreign affairs official and two employees at the airport, the BNI revealed that a phone call was placed through to them to allow the three ladies access through the VIP lounge, access that included loading the luggage onto the plane for them. The man behind that phone call has been identified as Alhaji Dawood.
He was declared wanted by the BNI, and was arrested Sunday night at the Kotoka International Airport upon his arrival into the country from Lagos.
This brings to thirteen the number of people so far arrested in connection to this case, and at the moment this Alhaji Dawood looks like the big boss man. He probably isn’t, but I guess only investigations would reveal how far up the food chain this thing goes.
