Who Created Your Problem Because the Devil Is On Holiday? | We Have Champagne Appetite with Beer Budgets

Devil Wings
Devil Wings

We sometimes (actually most of the time) love to think we’re smart and take some decisions/adopt a certain lifestyle. If the outcome of our smartness (stupidity) is not what we expected, we blame the devil for being the cause of our downfall. Since the devil, according to the bible, came to kill, steal and destroy – we’ve taken delight in living irresponsibly and comfortably blaming the devil for every self-created problem in our lives. The thief/adulterer/destroyer blames the devil when caught because the devil is not around to defend him/her/itself.

No matter what/whom we believe in, there are natural laws in/of life and its accompanying consequences when we breach or violate them – the law of cause and effect. You can ignore and evade that natural law with ease but its consequences; you can’t pray and fast your way out. Blaming the devil and sowing big seeds will not do either.

We blame the devil for everything. I have blamed the devil over and over again until I realised I was not helping myself in anyway because most of my ‘problems’ were self-created and I used the devil as an escape route. The blame game didn’t solve my problems in no matter how hard I tried injecting (non)sense into poor choices and decisions I took

Indiscipline, lack of self-control, poor planning and laziness is all clothed with the devil to exonerate ourselves from problems. We’re chasing money and leaving our children for peers and technology to raise/train them. After chasing all the money in this world and the children turn into something else, then we blame the devil for destroying our children. We run from pillar to post seeking for solutions and all the monies chased over the years will end up in a pastors’ pocket within a week. Of course the pastor will help you to pray after the damage is done so why not prevent instead of curing?

We believe there’s this enemy somewhere phishing our monies because they don’t want our progress (that is if you’re the superstitious type), or we believe the devil is devouring our cash because we don’t pay tithe whilst in actual fact we live beyond our means. We have champagne appetite with beer budgets.

We get stuff we don’t need because it’s the latest in town. Classy people don’t buy what is in vogue; they dress to stand out not fit in. Some parents enrol their child/ren into schools they cannot afford. Instead of swallowing their pride and moving the kids to schools they can afford, they hang in there and put so much financial pressure on themselves. Is it compulsory to take your children to ‘dollar’ school? How can a sane person buy high BP and stress for him/self?

People create problems for themselves by taking wrong and rushed decisions – especially in marriages. Instead of finding the root cause of a problem, they try to find solace elsewhere and when the centre cannot hold anymore, they complain the devil ‘hijacked’ their marriage.

Irresponsible people will always do irresponsible things, take irresponsible decisions and turn around claiming they were not responsible for anything. You cannot think strategically as long as you are pointing a miserable finger at someone else – you cannot see. How can you right your wrongs by pointing and blaming the devil with an irresponsible finger? Two people make a marriage so the devil is either one or both.

The very day we’re told by our pastors that the devil is actually not the cause of our problems neither is he/she/it ‘remote controlling’ us to make mistakes, we won’t go for deliverance anymore – so that open secret will never be revealed unto us. Man/woman must eat and the beginning of being told the truth is the end of ‘deliverance fees’. We need have an introspection – right from our thoughts, mind sets, decisions, attitudes lifestyles and do away with the ‘stuff’ causing our downfall and problems and leave the devil alone.

The devil doesn’t even know you because he/she/it has been on holiday for a very long time now!
