Nollywood Actress-Stephanie Okereke’s Cousin Arrested For Raping A University Student: He Says It’s Must Have Been The Devil That Made Him Do It

I never fail to get amused when a spineless coward eager to escape the consequences of their actions decides to blame it all on the devil. It never works yet people go for it all the time.

One Prince Daniel Okereke, cousin to Nollywood actress Stephanie Okereke, has been arrested by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of Lagos for allegedly raping a 22 year old L300 student of the University of Lagos, Arinola.

The Sun reports that the incident occurred on Thursday November 6, and that Prince carried out the act with the aid of his personal bodyguards in his house after luring her there under the pretence of offering friendly aid.

Arinola said that she befriended the perpetrator through an online dating website, and that he was pressuring her into a relationship, but she turned away the advances under the guise that she wanted to concentrate on school.

Then one day she just received a call from the blue that he was on the school premises.

The lady was sick at the time, so she informed Prince who offered to take her to the pharmacy to get drugs. Impresses by this seemingly altruistic gesture, she complied.

That was when things began to go wrong; he successfully lured her into his home, and then with the aid of his personal bodyguards raped her several times.

“When we got to his house, I told him that I was not interested in having sex with him, he called two of his security guards to help him to tie me up and seal my mouth. He then brought out his belt and started flogging me”

After the incident, Arinola got livid and started destroying things in his house. Concerned neighbours called the police and Arinola got arrested, but Prince Daniel was later arrested when she gave her statement to Police alleging rape.

He admitted the whole thing, saying he does not understand why he did it and that ‘he does not know what got into his head’

“I am so ashamed of myself. We are family of professionals whom you know very well. I don’t know what got into my head. I am sorry and plead for forgiveness,”

I don’t think it was the devil that got into your head man, it was lust and covetousness.

Prince, together with one of his bodyguards have been arraigned before court, charged with conspiracy, assault, rape, and threat to life; the other is on the run.

The only thing worse than being a bad guy is being a bad guy who does not accept responsibility; he should be locked away for a while to contemplate how to get the devil out of his head.
