A lot of us worry so much about being rich to the extent that we fail to live any meaningful life—confusingly putting richness in the same bowl as happiness.
It’s the small things that make life interesting and bring the needed happiness but most of us spend each day cashing money while failing to live..
According to China’s richest man-founder and executive chairman of the e-commerce giant Alibaba, he is not happy about being the richest man in China.
And in fact, being rich puts a lot of pressure on him, contrary to what many people who are not rich think.
Jack Ma in a recent interview said; the responsibility and celebrity that come with being the richest is a “great pain” and he is not happy.
The pressure gets to him, especially as people put high expectations on Alibaba’s stock price and expect the business to perform greatly.
It’s not just the stock price and thinking about the future that worry him, he feels as if people look at him differently when they see him on the street. And that, he feels people have started surrounding him because of his riches, not because of who he is.
He told CNBC that “I want people to see this is entrepreneur, this is a guy who is having fun of himself. I want to be myself.”
As they say; there is more to life than money…
